What Drives My Passion for Photography?, read more here

Award winning family photographer Singapore

When I established my photography business in Singapore in 2010, most photographers were operating from a studio, and outdoor photography using natural light was a rarity. However, after participating in a photography workshop with JinkyArt from Australia, I was smitten with natural light photography. Despite outdoor photography not being a mainstream trend in Singapore at the time, I took pride in only shooting in natural light since then. Although I am not one to seek attention, my love for photography and capturing love in my photos has allowed me to nurture my soul in ways that are hard to express. Being able to plan a photography session, customize it to my clients' preferences, and help them find the best locations and lighting, while also providing maternity dresses and high-quality products, has been a liberating and artistic journey for me. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of my clients' lives and create timeless memories for them. While it may have been easier to simply enjoy the expat life in Singapore by the pool or at lunches, photography fuels my soul, and I am passionate about giving my clients memories that will never fade.

For me, photography is more than just a means to earn money. Even if I couldn't work, I would still take pictures in the same way as I do now. It nurtures my soul in ways that are difficult to explain, and I'm drawn to the airy and bright style that captures love in my photos, whether it's a family, newlyweds, or first-time parents. I enjoy planning sessions, customizing them for my clients, finding the best locations and light, and even offering maternity dresses to expecting clients. Being the artistic mastermind behind it all is freeing, and I can't imagine who I would be without it. I'm grateful to be a part of my clients' lives, even if it's only for a family session or a newborn shoot. It's easy to forget why I work so hard, and while I could just relax and enjoy the expat life here in Singapore, it wouldn't nurture my soul in the same way. I love creating memories that never fade for my clients, and that's why I'm a photographer. I would be honored to tell your story.

Xoxo, Gunilla.
