How I Found My Passion: My Path into Family photography

Sometimes it’s good to have a hubby that doesn’t listen to you, if he had, I probably wouldn’t be running a family photography studio by now:).

In fact if someone would have said in 2008 that I would work as a photographer I would have bursted in one of those big belly laughs. One day, in 2008 my hubby came home with a camera, (after specifically saying I don’t want a DSLR camera) and I looked at him with doubt and said, "Now what?" I signed up for a photography course, and ever since, I've been hooked. A funny fact is that out of the 10 Swedish women that took the photography course here in Singapore that I had arranged, 4 of us are working as photographers around the world today:).

My initial tools were a Canon 450D and a trusty 50mm 1.8 lens, accompanied by a stack of business cards that symbolized my aspirations. Building my portfolio was my first priority, and so I turned to my immediate network, asking if I could capture their families.. I priced my services at SGD 250 for a full family photoshoot, including all the meticulously edited photos.

My inaugural family session took place at the Botanical Gardens with my friend Ulrika's daughter, and I'll admit, I was a bundle of nerves, unsure of where this journey would lead. But my first family photoshoot had happened, yay!

From those modest beginnings, my photography venture has blossomed into what it is today(with small steps moving forward, a few big mistakes but hey, what is life without making mistakes…right?) – a business dedicated to crafting personalized, heartfelt images that truly reflect my clients and the love they share for each other. My photography style revolves around natural light, capturing that magical backlight that accentuates the beauty in every scene. Every step of the way, I'm there for my clients, guiding them through the entire process, from our initial conversation to the moment they receive their treasured images. I invest copious amounts of time and effort into every session, ensuring that my clients have nothing short of the finest photography experience.

I transitioned from being a hobbyist with a camera to becoming a dedicated business owner by making a commitment to deliver an unparalleled customer experience. It's imperative to me that my clients feel cherished and receive a tailor-made, exceptional journey. As a lifestyle family photographer specializing in capturing the essence of remarkable individuals like you, I'm here to offer my services. Whether you're considering a maternity photography session or a heartwarming family photoshoot, please reach out to me without hesitation.

And the journey doesn’t stop here, I’m now venturing into offering family studio sessions too, the beauty with this passion I call work is that I can always keep on evolving:).
