Little India, Singapore

One of my absolute favourite places in Singapore is Little India. Just close your eyes and I know you can see it, the colourful textures, the chitter and chatter of the salesmen on the streets, the scents of the herbs, the freshness of the fruit and vegetables, and the women planning todays dinner, all mixed up in a wonderful vibrant pot.
The best way to experience Little India is by foot, the scent from roadside markets selling fruits, vegetable and temple flowers, this way you will fully experience the visit.

The tiny island of Singapore has a population of over 5 million people, almost half of which are foreign nationals, thus allowing numerous cultures to thrive together in this green paradise. Singapore has four official languages—Mandarin Chinese, English, Malay, and Tamil. The majority of the population is Chinese Singaporean, but there are significant Malay and Indian communities.

Besides plenty of shopping options, food is definitely a highlight in Little India. There are numerous options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians, (ohhh, those naans) in my optioning the Indian cuisine offers the best vegetarian dishes! And of course you enjoy the food like the Indians, eating with your right hand!

There are plenty of places to go shopping for souvenirs, however I go there for the experience:).
