Photoshoot at Joo Chiat shophouses
Natural light headshot photographer Singapore
Family outdoor photoshoot Singapore
If you’ve been with me for a while you know that I’ve lived in Singapore for over 12 years and 6 of them on East Coast. For 4 years I passed by these gorgeous pastel shophouses on my way to my office. You would think I’ve been photographing here a lot.
It may surprise you that I had my first session here yesterday. Yes, really.
Since it was my first time photographing at Joo Chiat shophouses I went there a day before to check how the light was, when we need to start the shoot to get the best light and how long we can shoot before the sun hits the clients (if being photographed in full sun creates bad yellow lighting and squinting eyes, not to mention clients getting to hot and sweaty). I do that with all my shoots, since getting the best light is so important for my photographs.
We started photographing at 7.30 and we did not have that long to photograph until the sun was peaking up over the houses, luckily this shoot was a headshot session so didn’t need more time but my family sessions are about 1.5 hours long would need to plan accordingly then:)
I hope someone is keen on a family session here, can it really become more Singapore than these cute shophouses?
So, Monday and a new week, hope you had a relaxing weekend! I was on my fourth working weekend in a row, with a maternity session on East Coast (can’t wait to show you the photos!) and then some editing on Saturday but hey I had the Sunday off:).
Kicking off this week with a headshot session in a cafe (whoop whoop, always wanted to try that)
Have a lovely Monday,
