An early morning family photoshoot
Family photographer Singapore
45 minutes before this photoshoot should start, I was still discussing with Kate if we should proceed since it had been raining during the morning and it was still drizzling a bit. I was so close to say “hey, let’s reschedule” but SO happy I didn't. But I had my doubts even on my way, oh my, will it still be a cloudy gloomy morning?
Just when I took out my camera and started shooting, the drizzling rain ended and a gorgeous morning appeared. I had never photographed at this location before, so I headed over early to check it out. Worst thing is not knowing the area I photograph in! Super important for me (I always test shoot when in a new location but we had to change to this location last minute so there was no time for that this time) when I got to the location on this Saturday morning, it was pretty much only me and same late party goers out, I did feel a bit misplaced haha and they kinda looked at me funny :)
When you meet people for the first time, and the first thing you do is pull out your camera, my first goal is to make everyone feel comfortable. Especially the kiddos, if the kiddos are having fun and are relaxed the parents feel it and get relaxed to.
As of 95% of my sessions, we wanted relaxed and authentic photographs (and I know that since I meet all my clients beforehand) they turned out exactly like that, and you can add playful to it too. I love when parents just let their “adult guard” down, and just hang out with the kiddos!
Beside being one of the most gorgeous families I know, I love how authentic they are with each other. And yes, no need to tell you but I am super happy with how the photos turned out!
Kate and her family are moving back to Sydney, and I know now that they have gorgeous and meaningful memories of their stay in Singapore and they will be treasured for a lifetime.
All the best on your new adventure!
